Dr Helen Wall

Clinical Director of Commissioning

Helen was born and bred in Bolton and trained as a doctor Newcastle upon Tyne Medical School.

After completing her foundation training at The East Lancs Trust, she took up GP training in Bolton and became a GP partner at Dr Kirby and Partners, Crompton Health Centre, in 2012 (now The Oaks Family Practice).

Helen has undertaken many varied roles in Bolton since qualifying. These include working at Bolton Hospice, working in the out of hours service on a weekly basis and training Bolton GPs past and present. Helen has also spent several years both examining and teaching medical students from Manchester University and the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan).

In 2014/15. Helen set up and ran the Non English Speaking Patient Project (NESPs), helping other cultures access healthcare appropriately, working within several Bolton practices. Through this work Helen developed a love for improving patient pathways and effecting positive change for both clinicians and patients.
