Dr Niruban Ratnarajah

Chair

Dr Ratnarajah is a GP partner at Stonehill Medical Centre and chairman on NHS Bolton Clinical Commissioning Group.

Dr Ratnarajah trained in Bolton more than ten years ago and has been a partner locally for the last eight years. He feels that this is an exciting time to be a GP in Bolton and that some of the collaborative work that is being planned will enhance the care provided to local people.

General practice has been under unprecedented demand and the introduction of the new contract, and the involvement of the enhanced primary care team, will provide the opportunity to make improvements to overall clinician well-being, and in the turn health outcomes of the population. He feels high quality clinical care is essential and that patients play a vital role in designing and transforming their care.

Niruban has made many practice-level changes to improve patient and staff well-being and this is valuable experience when representing the locality. Within Bolton, the different sectors have varied needs and he has experienced the variability as a locum which will help when representing local needs fairly. Patient representation alongside clinical engagement is vital in designing the services for the locality.
