Advice for people who are shielding

The Government's guidance for clinically extremely vulnerable people who are shielding during coronavirus is to be relaxed in stages.

The current guidance is that people who are shielding should stay at home and only go outside to exercise or to spend time outdoors with members of their household, or with one other person from another household if they live alone.

From July 6 the Government will be advising that those who are shielding may meet outdoors in groups of up to six people, while maintaining strict social distancing.

From August 1 the advice will be that people will no longer need to shield and may choose to visit shops and places of worship, but should continue to maintain rigorous social distancing.

The full guidance for people who are shielding can be found here.
