Almost half of Bolton 16 and 17 year olds vaccinated

27/8/21

Efforts to encourage young people to come forward for their Covid-19 vaccination are paying off, as almost half of all 16 and 17 year olds in Bolton have been jabbed.

All walk-in vaccination sites in Bolton are welcoming 16 and 17 year olds, and they are encouraged to continue to come forward before schools and colleges return in September.

The offer to get vaccinated remains in place for anyone aged over 16, especially those who may have changed their mind about getting jabbed.

Dr Helen Wall, senior responsible officer for the vaccination programme in Bolton, said: “I must say a big ‘thank you’ to everyone who has come forward so far.

“We have made great progress with 16 and 17 year olds over the past week or so, but it’s not ‘job done’ yet! We must continue with our efforts and get the rest jabbed before schools and colleges return for the Autumn term.

“It’s also important that people understand that clinics are not solely for the younger age group. I appreciate that some people may have been cautious at the start of this programme or wanted to wait a while, and may have since changed their mind.

“Our vaccination sites will welcome anyone who is eligible. It is never too late to change your mind!”

All walk-in sites in Bolton for the week ahead are welcoming 16+
