Bolton CCG wins national innovation award

NHS Bolton Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) has received two national awards in recognition of its efforts to maximise NHS resources whilst improving patient care.
The CCG beat tough competition from across the country to win the Healthcare Finance Management Association award for innovation in a joint submission with Bolton NHS Foundation Trust. Both organisations have worked hard to build a stronger partnership and work more closely together. Bolton has put in place a new innovative contract for local health services, which enables the local NHS to work together in a more joined up way with shared goals and objectives.
This new way of working has been spearheaded by Annette Walker, Chief Finance Officer at the CCG, who won the HFMA Finance Director of the Year Award in recognition of her efforts.
Annette said: “I am delighted that Bolton has won these awards and particularly proud to receive the Finance Director of the Year Award and gain national recognition for the work we are doing. We have been able to work collaboratively with Bolton NHS Foundation Trust and their Finance Director, Simon Worthington who won the Finance Director of the Year Award last year. The changes in Bolton are helping us to prepare for the challenges ahead of us and protect our local health services to make sure patient needs are met”.
