Bolton vaccination bus and walk-in clinic locations

16/7/21

While most social distancing restrictions are being lifted on Monday (July 19), Covid has not gone away and people are being encouraged to get fully vaccinated to keep themselves and others safe.

Bolton has a range of convenient walk-in clinics offering both first and second doses of the Pfizer and AstraZeneca vaccines.

They are part of the borough’s walk-in vaccination offer for Bolton residents aged 18 and over for the week commencing July 16.

The Covid-19 vaccination buses will also be returning to Moses Gate Country Park in Farnworth; Victoria Square in Bolton town centre; Great Lever Children’s Centre; Essa Academy; and Queen’s Park over the coming days.

More than 191,000 people living in Bolton have had their first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine and nearly 149,000 people have had their second jab.

This is good news, but we still have thousands of people to vaccinate.

Young people and pregnant women are particularly being encouraged to take up the offer to get vaccinated.

People are also being reminded to get their second dose to ensure the best protection against catching the virus, becoming seriously unwell or spreading it to others.

Dr Helen Wall, senior responsible officer for the vaccination programme in Bolton, said: “The response to the vaccination programme in Bolton has been fantastic but, unfortunately, we are seeing young people being admitted to hospital in Bolton with Covid.

“Everyone over 18 can get vaccinated and I would urge young people and pregnant women to take up the offer. If you have any concerns at all, please come along to one of our clinics for a chat.

“It is also vitally important that people get both doses of the vaccine. This will not only reduce your chance of catching the virus, it will reduce your chance of becoming serious unwell – or even dying - if you do catch it. You are also less likely to spread the virus to your loved ones, friends and colleagues.”

The national guidance is eight weeks between first and second doses. We are unable to administer second doses earlier than eight weeks, except for clinical reasons.

Anyone requiring a second dose can also contact NHS Bolton CCG for help: on 01204 462125, 462157, 462030, 462028. Phone lines are open Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5.30pm only.
