Bolton vaccination services up to July 3

25/6/21

A retail park, community hall and country park are just some of the latest locations for walk-in vaccination services in Bolton.

The vaccination programme is forging ahead in its mission to vaccinate everyone over the age of 18, ahead of the proposed easing of restrictions on July 19.

As well as the borough’s regular clinics that can be booked by appointment, there are a number of pop-up services aimed at making it easier for people to access their vaccination while out and about.

All sites are open to anyone who lives, works or studies in Bolton. However, people are encouraged to use the walk-in facilities only if they haven’t already got an appointment booked elsewhere.

Dr Helen Wall, Senior Responsible Officer for the Vaccination Programme in Bolton, said: “We absolutely want people to take advantage of our numerous walk-in locations, whether at a clinic or on the vaccination bus. However, we would remind people that if they already have an appointment booked in, to please keep it.

“Our walk-in services are aimed at making it easier for people to access their vaccination. We know that some people do struggle to make an appointment either because they have no access to transport, no credit on their phone or childcare issues.

“We have a good mix in Bolton of both pre-booked and walk-in services and I would encourage people to choose whichever is the best option for them – all I ask is that they get their vaccination as soon as possible so we can get back to some sort of normality.”

The vaccination bus at Middlebrook Retail Park this weekend is an additional service to the national booking site at the nearby Hootons at the BWFC site. Anyone who has an appointment already booked there – or any other site – is encouraged to keep it.
