Many of us probably spend too much time on our phones.

And while being on-line too much can be bad for our health, using technology well can help us to manage our own wellbeing.
It’s vital that we all take control of our own health as much as we can; we are living longer which means that many of us will need more care. Taking action now will help us to stop many long-term health problems arising in future.
By developing digital tools, we are trying to make it easier for you to do just that.
The Greater Manchester Service Finder app is a fantastic example of how we can help you. It allows you to search for pharmacies, GPs, dentists, opticians, sexual health clinics, maternity services, urgent care treatment centres and emergency departments near you.
Don’t forget, you can also find your local doctor, pharmacist and other services on the CCG’s website.
One downside of the internet is knowing what advice to trust, especially when it comes to health.
The NHS apps library https://www.nhs.uk/apps-library/ has trusted and easy to use apps. These include support and advice to:
- prevent and manage diabetes
- manage thoughts, feelings and behaviour and cope with panic attacks
- adopt a healthy lifestyle
- manage the symptoms of chronic conditions such as asthma and high blood pressure
- cope with the impact of breast cancer
