First partnership health and care recruitment event
Come and join us on October 6
Health and care partners in Bolton have joined forces to deliver their first recruitment event.
NHS Bolton Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), Bolton NHS Foundation Trust and Bolton Council will host the inaugural ‘It’s Better to Be in Bolton’ event on Saturday, October 6.
The event will be held in the Festival Hall, at Bolton Town Hall from 10am to 4pm, and is free to attend.
Visitors will find a range of information and opportunities from a number of key partners in the town, including the voluntary and community sector, Greater Manchester Mental Health Foundation Trust (GMMH), Bolton Cares, Bolton University and 1point.
There will be helpful information on how to apply to be a nurse, what it takes to be a social worker, the benefits of becoming a care assistant, why it’s important to get the right training and much more.
The event will also offer people the chance to pick up interview techniques and be the first to apply for vacant posts at an Application Station.
Chairman of NHS Bolton CCG, Wirin Bhatiani, said: “Health and social care in Bolton is changing and we have been working in partnership with Bolton Council and the Foundation Trust for some time to deliver an improved and more efficient system.
“One element of this is to create a diverse and skilled workforce that is unique to Bolton. It is an exciting time to work in the health and care sector, and such a rewarding profession to be a part of. We are looking for the best people to join us and be proud to work in the town. This event will be the first of many for us to show why we believe ‘it’s better to be in Bolton’ and a great opportunity for someone to find their ideal job.”
Paul Henshaw, Head of Resourcing for Bolton NHS Foundation Trust said: “We are very excited to be working in partnership with colleagues from the Council, CCG, education, and the voluntary sector in Bolton.”
“As one of the biggest employers in Bolton we feel this event will be a great opportunity to showcase the wide range of job and career opportunities we have to offer. Our staff will be present on the day to speak to people attending the event and answer any questions about working or volunteering in the Trust. Our teams are proud to work in Bolton and in the NHS and look forward to meeting everyone.”
Executive Cabinet Member for Adult Social Care and Health, Cllr Debbie Newall, said: “We are delighted to be hosting the first ‘It’s Better to Be in Bolton’ recruitment event together with our partners from across the health and care service.
“We are committed to improving the health and wellbeing of everyone in Bolton and recruiting dedicated and talented staff is a vital part of achieving that ambition.
“We already know that Bolton is a fantastic place to live and work. This event is an ideal opportunity to share that message while encouraging more people to take up a rewarding career in the health and care sector.”
Entrance to the It’s Better to Be in Bolton event will be via the Albert Halls entrance.
